OUR TEAM
BioHeal Ottawa is growing.
We have space available and are looking for additional practitioners to join our already strong team of senior doctors.

Dr. Marie Matheson, BSc, ND

Dr. Marie is a Naturopathic doctor and co-founder of BioHeal Ottawa which opened in April, 2019. She graduated from the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in 2005 and for the past decade was the senior ND at a local wellness clinic. Grounded in general practice skills, Dr. Marie thinks of herself as somewhat of a health detective for chronic illnesses, specifically when it comes to figuring out the underlying causes of chronic illness. Within this field, she is particularly well known for her expertise in treating Lyme Disease.
Her willingness to freely share clinical pearls of wisdom among colleagues has led to her being a sought-after speaker at conferences. This, along with her professional reputation, lead to her being asked to be a recent author of a chapter within the Connie Strasheim’s ground-breaking book, New Paradigms in Lyme Disease.
It’s hard to improve on the Naturopathic refrain, “fix the terrain”, but this is the mission at the heart of Dr. Marie’s practice. She meets all her patients with the heartiest smile and an open mind.
She is a member of both the Canadian association of Naturopathic Medicine and International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS).

Dr. Pierce has been able to help many people overcome their symptoms and many types of illnesses such as Lyme and co-infections, auto-immune issues, severe acne, insomnia, digestive disturbances, anxiety and depression.
In addition to using lab reports and clinical examination, Dr. Jesse further employs the use of an assessment technique known as Auricular Medicine. This is an assessment tool to determine blockages that are preventing the body from healing.
In her practice she uses drainage, herbs, homeopathy, acupuncture, nutrition and lifestyle counselling as tools to facilitate change and improvements in her patient’s lives. More recently, Dr. Jesse has incorporated “neurofeedback” to help support optimal brain wellness (Learn about Neurofeedback here), as well as becoming a practitioner of the Elapromed system for naturopathic skin treatments (Learn about Elapromed here).
